Digitally Sketched Family Portrait - Photo Restoration Included

Helloooo and thank you for taking an interest in my group sketches, professionally created from your favourite photos; stitched together and meticulously transformed into what looks like a beautiful, authentic pencil sketch. My portraits are photo realistic so you can be safe in the knowledge that the likeness of each person will remain true. 

I pay attention to the little things when I sketch them, aiming to capture the essence of each photo and the memories they hold. It’s often the smallest details that stand out, like the way someone’s posture tells a story, a particular look they have in their eyes, or the unique shape of a favourite piece of jewellery. Also, at every opportunity, I will always try to interweave limbs of each person on the portrait to make it look as though they are interacting in the same room- not just some head shots thrown together in a hurry. Babies are often placed in their Grandparent's arms, and father's will have their arms around their sons, for example. If you have a idea that you would like me to try, please ask! :)

I can create both black&white and watercolour family portraits, whichever you prefer, just specify when ordering! :) 

Each and every piece of art is made with care and love, and to your exact specifications. I spend a wealth of time on each portrait as I adjust the tones on every one of your photos. I add and remove light sources and shadows on each person to ensure that the result looks natural, as though it is a true photo.  My goal is to recreate your vision as perfectly as possible, ensuring that every line, shadow, and feature is captured at a glance. I will give your portrait the time and attention it deserves to create a piece that feels truly lifelike and meaningful.

                                THE PROCESS

To place your order print, simply choose the number of people (or animals) you'd like included in the portrait, then select the size you would like the sketch to be. If you prefer to discuss your ideas first, you can message me using the “Message Jonny” button towards the bottom of this listing. Three photos at a time can be uploaded onto this message, if you have more than three photos, you will have to send multiple messages.

The larger and clearer your photos are, the more detailed and realistic your custom portraits can be. However, I do have some incredible photo enhancement software to revive many important details lost to time. So don't worry too much if your photo is decades old and blurry. We will find the perfect solution together.

After sending me your favourite photo of each person/animal, I will stitch them together to find a brand new composition, so you can see exactly how it will fit on the page. If photos need to be swapped or you would like people to be moved around on the page, it is very easy at this stage. Once you're 100% happy with the layout, I will transform the result into what looks like a traditional hand drawn pencil sketch or watercolour painting, using a sequence of steps that I have been constantly developing over the last few years. 

They are then beautifully printed to the size you desire on 180GSM textured sketching paper for that authentic look and feel (colour portraits are printed on high quality photo paper with a glossy finish). Framing is optional, please discuss this with me via Etsy messages.

                      POSTAGE OF YOUR PORTRAIT

I will package your portrait with the utmost care to ensure it arrives safely. It will be secured in a strong cardboard tube or sandwiched between layers of cardboard to prevent accidental damage as it makes it's way to you. All orders are sent "First Class Signed For" via the Royal Mail within the UK, so a tracking number is provided. These often arrive the very next working day. Portraits sent outside of the UK are also send tracked via the Royal Mail and often arrive within 5-10 days after dispatch.

These pieces of art are digitally made on a graphics tablet, using my wealth of knowledge to resemble my hand drawings as closely as humanly possible. I then incorporate elements of my hand drawings into the final piece so they genuinely look as though they have been sketched with physical pencils. I am a traditional pencil sketch artist and I specialise in ultra realism, which has been the drive to recreate these with my digital pencil sketches.
