Hand Drawn Family Portrait - Photo Restoration Included

Helloooo! My name is Jonny and I specialize in creating ultra realistic, hand sketched pencil portraits. With over ten years experience selling my hand drawings professionally, I have developed a keen eye for photo realism. 

I pay attention to the little things when I draw, aiming to capture the essence of the photo and the memories it holds. It’s often the smallest details that stand out, like the way someone’s posture tells a story, a particular look they have in their eyes, or the unique shape of a favourite piece of jewellery.  Also, at every opportunity, I will always try to interweave limbs of each person on the portrait to make it look as though they are interacting in the same room- not just some head shots thrown together in a hurry. Babies are often placed in their Grandparent's arms, and father's will have their arms around their sons, for example. If you have a idea that you would like me to try, please ask! :)

These portraits are not prints or digitally manipulated images. Everything is hand-drawn with premium materials to ensure your artwork is completely unique and made to stand the test of time. Once finished, they are sprayed with a fixative to preserve the pencil on the paper for years to come.

My turnaround time for a custom hand drawing is currently under two weeks.

                                THE PROCESS

To place your order, simply choose the number of people (or animals) you'd like included in the portrait, then select the size you prefer for the drawing. If you would like to discuss ideas you have for your drawing beforehand, you can message me using the “Message Jonny” button towards the bottom of this listing. Three photos at a time can be uploaded onto this message, if you have more than three photos, you will have to send multiple messages.

The larger and clearer your photos are, the more detailed and realistic your custom portraits can generally be. However, I do have some incredible photo enhancement software to revive many important details lost to time. So don't worry too much if your photo is decades old and blurry. We will find the perfect solution together.

After sending me your favourite photo of each person/animal, I will stitch them together to find a brand new composition, so you can see exactly how it will fit on the page. If photos need to be swapped or you would like people to be moved around, it is very easy to do at this stage. Once you're 100% happy with the layout, I will begin the hand drawing from scratch, and this composition will be my new reference photo.

Once the layout is finalised, I’ll get to work on the hand-drawn sketch, pouring every bit of focus and precision into each detail. My goal is to recreate your vision as perfectly as possible, ensuring that every line, shadow, and feature is captured at a glance. I will give your portrait the time and attention it deserves to create a piece that feels truly lifelike and meaningful.

                      POSTAGE OF YOUR PORTRAIT

I will package your portrait with the utmost care to ensure it arrives safely. It will be secured in a strong cardboard tube or sandwiched between layers of cardboard to prevent accidental damage as it makes it's way to you. All orders are sent "First Class Signed For" via the Royal Mail within the UK, so a tracking number is provided. These often arrive the very next working day. Portraits sent outside of the UK are also send tracked via the Royal Mail and often arrive within 5-12 days after dispatch.

This listing is specifically for an authentic hand drawing. For smaller budgets, I offer a digitally sketched option that closely resembles the precision of my hand drawn work.
